Farming as though we'll be here in twenty years
No slogans. These are the things we actually do, and the ones we are still working on.
Local employment
Our team comes from the villages and towns around the farm. Wages are paid on time, work is permanent wherever the task allows, and seasonal roles are offered to the same people each year so the income is something families can plan around.
Skills development
Training happens on the farm: propagation, irrigation scheduling, integrated pest management, harvest handling, record keeping. Several of our supervisors started as seasonal field staff.
Responsible farming
Conservative inputs, rotation and cover cropping where blocks allow it, and green waste composted back into the soil. We would rather protect the land's productivity than push a single season.
Efficient water use
Drip irrigation scheduled against soil moisture, with usage measured rather than estimated. Water is not a resource anyone in Malawi treats casually.
Looking after the land
We keep natural vegetation on field margins, manage erosion on slopes and avoid clearing beyond what the licensed operation needs.
Supporting surrounding communities
We buy locally where we can and work with community leadership on the things that matter near the farm — access roads, water points, and seasonal work for households that need it.
Long-term investment in Malawi
Profits are reinvested into the operation here: drying capacity, storage, training and the land itself. This is a Malawian business, not a temporary presence.
